An updo hairstyle looks glamorous, especially a curly one. Eva is wearing a curly updo hairstyle that features some side swept bangs, height in the crown area and medium waves throughout the style. The hair has been pulled up loosely with wispy curly strands framing the face and sides.
Leaving out small strands of hair helps to soften any hairstyle and make it more feminine.
Aubrey O Day's updo, see photo right, features a side ponytail, height in the crown area and soft waves throughout. Shen has noticeable black roots with the rest of her hair blonde. This style definitely gets your attention.
She is showing off her roots as well. This is a trend that has been getiing mixed reviews. Some think it is a very chic way to wear your hair - shows you know who you are and aren't concerned about covering up. Others feel it looks very un-glam.
The blonde color on the rest of her hair, beside the roots, appears to bery vibrant and healthy.
This updo is very casual and perfect for the prom. To create this style first apply a styling cream to damp hair. Blow dry using a large round brush. Apply heat protectant before using any hot appliance on your hair. When the hair is dry, use a medium to large curling iron to add soft waves all over.
Take small sections of hair in the crown area and gently backcomb the hair, smoothing over the top with your fingers. Part the hair deep on one side and sweep all the hair back loosely and twist into a low chignon. Sweep the hair around the face gently off to one side and add small curls to the end. Finish off the style with a good hair spray to keep all the curls and hair in place.
Add spiral curls to the fringe pieces of hair around the face for a very romantic look. Pull out fringe pieces and wrap them around a small barrel curling iron and hold the iron in a vertical position for 20-30 seconds until the hair feels hot to the touch.
Allow the the curled pieces of hair to cool completely before shaping and positioning the hair. A blast of strong hold hair spray will help keep those curls in place all day long.
Keira is also wearing a loose updo that will work for your prom hair style. Long bangs combined with loose wispy strands and a loose chignon make this a great choice for prom.
